Brenda is a contemporary impressionist artist, with a love of color. Daughter of a watercolor artist, she has always been drawn to create. Although Brenda chose another profession, she rekindled her love of painting after raising twin boys and retiring from the corporate world.  

Her goal in each piece is to capture the feeling of movement and color; whether that be the atmosphere in a restaurant, the potential of an approaching storm, or the personality of a beloved pet. She shares her studio with her ever-present shadow, her 140 pound Newfoundland named Hemingway (affectionately called Ernest M. Hemingway when he misbehaves).  His favorite spot to park himself is of course between her feet and the easel.

Brenda has had the privilege to study under some of the most talented artists in the Southeast, including Nancy Franke, Margaret Dyer, Millie Gosch, Diana Toma, Chery Baird, Cynthia Perryman and Jim Richards.
